A recent study of employers across Europe revealed that flexible working can increase staff productivity by 39%. But with only 60% of companies currently offering the ability for staff to work from any location, more and more IT Directors are turning to UC and mobility providers for help with facilitating a disparate workforce.
This flexible working surge, teamed with a record rise in M&A, makes it a great time for sales teams - offering anything from UC and mobile apps to cloud hosting - to be targeting IT decision-makers. While the manufacturing and travel industries lead the way in terms of UC&C investments, companies across all sectors - from pharmaceutical giants like Johnson & Johnson through to fast-growing vehicle-rental companies like Avis Budget Group - are now benefiting from a seat on the mobility bandwagon, which only continues to pick up speed.
Sentiment here is changing rapidly: remote working not only offers numerous 'employee perks' such as more flexible hours, but is also a proven way of boosting a company's bottom line.
Based on our interviews with senior IT budget-holders over the last 12 months, almost twice as many are reviewing UC and mobility provision, with over 70% identifying internal restructuring as the main catalyst for investment. Ahead of the UC Expo on 19-20 April, we spoke in-depth to the event about current trends in this area of IT - you can read more on the subject here.
